We spend so much of our time indoors, and during Covid the relative proportion of time spent in work and home locations has significantly changed.

What is the future for our buildings? Adaptation and reinvention?

Many of us are working from home, adapting our houses to make space to function efficiently and professionally, whilst leaving empty and partially occupied offices across the country.

The high street was struggling before Covid, sadly the pandemic has added to the uncertainty over how these important hubs will evolve, and footfall to city centre shopping centres has lagged, as customers avoid covered locations (1).

Buildings and humans are adaptable, and it will be interesting to see how we shape our lives and our buildings to respond to these changes imposed on us. Prime Meridian can help clients re-assess their buildings to optimise their spaces for the future.
