One of our current and most engaging projects is a rural site in Somerset. Our client gave us the brief of converting the existing agricultural barn into a modern, single bespoke dwelling.
While our design for the converted site increases the existing built footprint via a small covered car hold, the height and lines of the barn have been kept unaltered so that the impact on the surrounding area can remain unchanged.
The design direction can be seen below in our 3D model.
As well as making a full planning permission for the conversion and an application for the extension, a further application was made to change of the use of the land around the barn to provide a residential curtilage.
Work on site has recently started with the removal of existing walls and investigation of the existing steel structure.
